STOP AIDS package of care poster
The WHO STOP AIDS package of care refers to a set of interventions designed to reduce morbidity and mortality in people with advanced HIV disease, particularly children and adolescents. It focuses on preventing, identifying, and treating HIV-associated infections and other opportunistic illnesses. The package includes screening, treatment, and prophylaxis for major opportunistic infections, rapid initiation of antiretroviral therapy, and intensified adherence support.

A key activity is a comprehensive Training Gap Assessment across participating countries. The aim was to better understand the current capacities and unmet needs of health staff directly involved in the implementation of the AHD package of care, including pediatricians, nurses, lab technicians, counselors, and others, to optimize its implementation.
