Preventing Deaths in the Shadows: Pediatric HIV Care on the Frontlines of THRIVE
When the U.S. Government issued a stop-work order and froze foreign aid funding, it led to significant disruptions across low-and middle-income countries. In Uganda, key health programs ground to a halt. One of the people affected was Rogers Balyejusa, a dedicated HIV index testing focal person whose role, previously supported by a CDC-funded project, was terminated due to the funding freeze.

Collaborating to Close Gaps in Advanced HIV Disease Management in Children
The THRIVE project aims to optimize the implementation of STOP AIDS package through research and stakeholder collaboration. A key component of the project is the Pediatric Expert Advisory Group (PEAG), a stakeholder group led by Penta under the THRIVE project to facilitate cross-country learning, review the current pediatric-specific evidence, and inform future research and tailored interventions to ensure that each child receives the most appropriate level of care. Â
